Dave Winer on ageism in tech made me think of this post; more specifically how this post is an example of how you curate experience within your discipline.
My dad is a life member of the American Chemical Society--67 years or so. I'm not sure that professional society model really fits in this modern world. But I wonder if some sort of overarching grouping that would spin a thread between conferences and the meetups and all the diverse collaborations among techies could be found?
